Toespraak minister Van Middelkoop : Symposium ‘Religion, conflict & coöperation in a globalising world’

As the newly appointed Minister of Defence who belongs to a Christian party, I am glad to give the keynote speech at this symposium. I am also glad to return for a short while to the building of the Senate. I am well aware that this symposium concludes a series of lectures organised this year by the Society for International Development (SID), the Dutch branch of which is chaired by Mr. Jos van Gennip, my former colleague in the Senate.
