Criteria for participation:
* the subject of the thesis must have a multidisciplinary character and needs to be focusing on contemporary East Asia and/or East Asian Studies;
* the author is attending or has attended a Master's programme at the University of Groningen;
* the thesis was completed between 1 July 2014 and 1 September 2015;
* the thesis' grade is 8 or higher;
* the thesis is of outstanding quality;
* the thesis is written in proficient English or Dutch;
* the thesis must have a multi disciplinary character or approach;
* it is the first time that the author participates in the "East Asian Studies" thesis competition;
* the thesis may be used for educational activities of the Centre for East Asian Studies Groningen (CEASG) and related communication.
Application procedure of one hardcopy and one soft copy:
* the full thesis (anonymous/no reference to author in thesis)
* proof of sufficient rate (grade: >= 8)
