A reflection on the method of systematic reviews
Systematic reviews as an evidence-based research method is gaining
popularity across disciplines. But what are these methods exactly? What
are the pros and cons? Is a systematic review an adequate method for
both qualitative and quantitative research? And why are some
disciplines more prone to it than others?
This VU mini-symposium on systematic reviews will address these
questions while reflecting on this increasingly used research method
and its future premises. Maurits van Tulder, Henri de Groot and Theo
van Tilburg will present different perspectives from medicine,
economics and social sciences, exploring the strength and weaknesses of
this research method in their fields. Lex Bouter, vice-chancellor, will
then moderate a discussion on the basis of the presented views.
Join us for this symposium and share your insights on systematic
reviews!
