AMSTELVEEN, 20 juli 2009 - HP en IBRIX hebben een definitieve
overeenkomst getekend voor de overname van IBRIX door HP. IBRIX is een
leidende provider van enterprise-class file serving software,
inclusief data protection, hoge beschikbaarheid en data management
services voor de uitrol van extreme scale-out, cloud en
high-performance computing.
Met de toevoeging van de IBRIX software aan het HP portfolio versterkt
HP haar leiderschap in de opkomende markt van scale-out en
high-performance computing storage, cloud storage en fixed content
archivering. Deze markt kent een jaarlijkse groei van 20 procent(1).
Dat is een hogere groei dan in network-attached storage en totale
externe storagemarkt. (2)
Klanten met uitgebreide, data-intensieve applicatieomgevingen merken
dat storage performance vaak een bottleneck in hun workflow wordt. De
oplossingen van IBRIX zorgen ervoor dat grote bedrijven eenvoudig en
kostenefficiënt enorme hoeveelheden user-generated data kunnen
opslaan.
Door de schaalbaarheid naar tientallen petabytes krijgen klanten
controle over explosieve datagroei. Ook kunnen zij hiermee inspelen op
performanceproblemen in de meest veeleisende omgevingen. Met de
geavanceerde datamanagementsystemen van IBRIX's Fusion software suite
is het mogelijk om zonder problemen capaciteit toe te voegen.

Founded in 2000, and an HP partner for three years, IBRIX is privately
held and headquartered in Billerica, Mass. It has 53 employees and
more than 175 enterprise customers spanning the communications, media,
entertainment, Internet, oil and gas, healthcare, life sciences, and
financial services markets.

IBRIX's software is currently available with HP StorageWorks storage
area networks (SANs), HP ProLiant servers, HP BladeSystem, and HP
ProCurve Non-HP site Ethernet switches and management software. The
combination of IBRIX's storage software with HP's business technology
portfolio offers customers a full suite of products and services from
design, transformation and management of corporate data centers to the
most extreme scale-out environments.

unique combination of IBRIX's file serving solutions with HP's

The transaction is subject to certain closing conditions and is
expected to be completed within the next 30 days. Following
completion, the business will be integrated into the StorageWorks
division in HP's Technology Solutions Group.
