Termination of discussions on the acquisition of Bial-Aristegui
Fornix BioSciences N.V. (Fornix) and BIAL- S.G.P.S., S.A. (BIAL) have mutually agreed to terminate their discussion for the potential acquisition of the Allergy Division of BIAL in Spain and Portugal known as BIAL-Aristegui , as referred to in the press release of Fornix dated 31 March 2008. Parties however have agreed to explore, over the coming months, alternative models of cooperation.

The Medical Aids Division, consisting of Laprolan in Beuningen, specialises in the marketing, sale and distribution of an extensive range of medical aids and medical and nursing consumables.

Beëindiging gesprekken inzake de acquisitie van Bial-Aristegui
Fornix BioSciences N.V. (Fornix) en BIAL- S.G.P.S., S.A. (BIAL) hebben met wederzijdse instemming hun gesprekken beëindigd aangaande de mogelijke acquisitie van de Allergiedivisie van BIAL in Spanje en Portugal opererend onder de naam BIAL-Aristegui , zoals eerder werd aangekondigd in het persbericht van Fornix gedateerd op 31 maart 2008. Partijen zijn echter overeengekomen om de komende maanden alternatieve samenwerkingsvormen te onderzoeken.

Deze producten worden toegepast bij de causale behandeling van allergieën veroorzaakt door verschillende allergenen, zoals gras- en boompollen en huisstofmijt. De ontwikkeling wordt ondersteund door hoogwaardige R&D-activiteiten en pan-Europees uitgevoerde klinische onderzoeken naar de werking van de verschillende producten.
De divisie Medische Hulpmiddelen wordt gevormd door het in Beuningen gevestigde Laprolan. Deze divisie richt zich op de verkoop, marketing en distributie van een breed assortiment medische hulpmiddelen en medische en verpleegkundige verbruiksartikelen.
