Suunto Core is a sports watch for any adrenaline-packed outdoor activity. It combines advanced altimeter, barometer, and compass functions with useful features like a depth meter, sunrise and sunset times, and a menu in four languages.

The judges pointed out that Suunto Core is a sports watch that offers great possibilities while at the same time is available for a fair price, allowing many people to enjoy it. It is intelligently produced, functional, and beautiful at the same time. It has a great user interface (especially with the four language options) and some smart details, such as the increased distance between watch and wrist that helps avoiding sweating.

Suunto's success in the competition was completed with the red dot award of Suunto Lumi, the first female-specific outdoor instrument. Suunto Lumi is a sports watch which appeals to women who enjoy spending time outdoors and who care about design and high quality. Suunto Lumi includes altimeter, barometer, compass, chronograph, thermometer, and sunrise and sunset times.

"This is a great honor for us" says Juha Pinomaa, President of Suunto. "Design and quality are the cornerstones of our brand. This award is a great recognition of our long-term and persistent work in designing our products to fit the specific needs of our end users".

The products were assessed by an international jury consisting of renowned design experts, who examined and tested the products according to degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, longevity, ecological compatibility, and clarity of function. Companies from 51 countries, with a total of 3,203 products, faced the judgement of the jury.
