GÜTERSLOH, Germany, November 7 /PRNewswire/ -- empolis GmbH, the leading provider of information logistics solutions, announces the upcoming launch of empolis:Content Lifecycle Suite (e:CLS) 3.2, the latest version of its Component Content Management System. The new release extends the leadership position of the company in the domain of Technical Documentation. e:CLS 3.2 supports DITA, the Darwin Information Typing Architecture, as a preconfigured solution for component-based documentation. Customers get a quick-start package that enables them to write and manage DITA-based documentation from day one. Some of the rich management functions of e:CLS include metadata, linking, versions, variants, translations, and workflow.

Robert Hawthorne, Global Technical Publication Solutions Technical Leader, GE Healthcare, summarizes the company's experiences with e:CLS to date: "e:CLS enables us to simply and efficiently manage our highly-modular XML content. The addition of advanced workflow and translation management are valuable enhancements to the platform that further improve our ability to satisfy customer demand for complex, accurate documentation in a highly-regulated, multi-lingual environment.". The translation management of e:CLS enables GE Healthcare Digital Imaging to publish its hundreds of service manuals in as many as 28 languages to support international requirements.

In addition to DITA support, e:CLS 3.2 offers a wealth of new features including:

- Auditing and reporting for analytics: all user interactions are logged in an audit table that is used to report about the actual status of the system or the use of the system in a given time frame. Managers get a powerful and flexible auditing, reporting, and analytics tool at hand.

- Dependent metadata: logical dependencies between different metadata vocabularies can be expressed in the configuration and are considered dynamically. Users can assign the configured metadata combinations to content modules. This simplifies the editing process and increases the quality of the data.

empolis presents e:CLS 3.2 to the public at tcworld and tekom annual conference and trade fair November 7-9, 2007 in Rhein-Main-Hallen, Wiesbaden, Germany. Visit us at booth #942.
