BERLIN, July 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Following their successful market introduction as the first manufacturer
worldwide of a professionally applicable, Asterisk-based telephone system,
the development department of the Kiel-based company announced today that
they will concentrate more intensively on integration with the world of
Microsoft products. The main focus of this effort is seamless integration
with Microsoft Exchange 2007.
"Microsoft products are used by nearly all of our customers," says
Jens-Uwe Junghanns, spokesperson for the company. "Therefore, we would like
to further expand the advantages of our system and offer customers the
possibility, for example, to choose contacts directly from their Outlook,
easily receive voicemail messages or have emails read aloud on their mobile
phone."
The Cruisephone links Microsoft Exchange to the world of IP-based and
classic ISDN telephony. Users can easily have their Exchange-planned events
announced on their mobile phone, postpone or cancel appointments, as well as
use Exchange's speech recognition to compose and send emails. Field staff
must no longer have their PDA or laptops - they are able to log into their
system through any telephone using a PIN and work on emails or plan meetings.
"We're assuming that the integration will be fully implemented in the
next three or four months," says Junghanns. "Then, our solution will also be
applicable to large, Asterisk-based telephone systems with several hundred
users."
