Fortis, Royal Bank of Scotland en Santander beantwoorden de uitnodiging van ABN AMRO voor een ontmoeting

Fortis, Royal Bank of Scotland en Santander ( hierna genoemd "De Banken") hebben ABN AMRO bevestigd dat zij maandag 23 april met hen in gesprek gaan. Tijdens dit onderhoud zullen de Banken hun interesse en intenties toelichten. Zij hebben de overtuiging dat deze in het belang van de aandeelhouders zijn, voldoen aan de toezichtseisen en implementeerbaar zijn. De Banken zijn tevreden met de mogelijkheid hun plannen te kunnen voorleggen aan ABN AMRO zodat de Raad van Commissarissen van ABN AMRO deze kan beoordelen naast mogelijke voorstellen van Barclays.

Deze aankondiging vindt plaats overeenkomstig artikel 9b lid 1 van het Nederlandse Besluit toezicht effectenverkeer 1995. Een eventuele transactie zal onderworpen zijn aan de goedkeuring van de bevoegde toezichthoudende autoriteiten in de relevante jurisdicties.
