LARCHMONT, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2003--Genetic
Engineering News today announced major enhancements to the GEN
Biotechnology Database, formerly the GEN Database of Biotechnology
Companies, the leading online resource for information on the
biotechnology industry.
The site design has been completely restructured to give members
easy access to the Database's powerful search engine as well as access
to additional features now included in every membership.
As a new part of the Genetic Engineering News subscriber list,
anyone can now submit a request to rent parts or the entire Database
list for promotional use, and members have the additional benefit of
using the search engine to refine their mailing list. Members will
also receive a 25% discount towards all list rentals. "Our members
have wanted the ability to rent this list for some time, and now we're
delivering this powerful tool for promoters everywhere," said Mary Ann
Liebert.
In addition to these enhancements, Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. now
provides all members with free access to select issues of
peer-reviewed journals featuring biotechnology content, including
Assay and Drug Development Technologies, a new journal focusing on
early-stage screening techniques.
For members' convenience, the editors of Genetic Engineering News
have compiled an extensive glossary of biotechnology terms, which is
searchable from any page within the Database. "The biotechnology
industry is changing daily, and this feature will help all of our
members stay current with the latest terminology," said John Sterling,
Editor-in-Chief of Genetic Engineering News.
"With this restructuring of the Database, we've created a
biotechnology portal for anyone involved in the industry. Be it
marketing, strategic planning, or product development, this product is
crucial to your business," said Tom Mulak, Vice President of Liebert
Online.
The GEN Biotechnology Database, started 22 years ago as the GEN
Directory of Biotechnology Companies, is in its second year as an
Internet resource. It is compiled and continuously updated by the
editors of Genetic Engineering News.
