OPENWAVE VERSTERKT T-NETBOX VAN DEUTSCHE TELEKOM MET STRATEGISCH
MESSAGING-PLATFORM
Naarden, 6 november 2001 - Openwave Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPWV),
leverancier van open, op IP gebaseerde software en applicaties voor
communicatie-infrastructuren, levert een strategisch messaging-platform aan
Deutsche Telekom AG voor haar Unified Messaging-oplossing. Deutsche Telekom
zal de internet messaging-server Openwave Email Mx van Openwave gaan
gebruiken om een miljoen zakelijke en particuliere gebruikers te voorzien
van e-mail en onderscheidende diensten. Deze diensten zullen ook beschikbaar
zijn voor de groothandel en consumenten die T-NetBox gebruiken. De T-NetBox
is de voicemailservice van Deutsche Telekom voor klanten met een vaste
verbinding.
Tot de onderscheidende diensten behoort de inmiddels geïmplementeerde
unified messaging-service voor de
T-NetBox, die als unified messaging-mailbox spraak, fax, e-mail en
multimedianieuws ontvangt. Deze oplossing kan worden benaderd via vaste en
mobiele telefoons, webbrowsers en een voice portal.

Services OS bestaat uit een modulair softwarepakket dat drie uitwisselbare
productcategorieën bevat: Mobile Services Infrastructures, Platform Services
en Communication Services. Mobile Services Infrastructure bestaat uit de
Openwave gateway- en browser-producten. Platform Services bevat
kerntechnologieën als directory-, portal- en provisioning-software (die
ervoor zorgt dat de gebruiker toegang krijgt), maar ook software voor
lokalisering, notificatie en synchronisatie, die intelligentie aan het
netwerk toevoegen. Communication Services bevat e-mail, mobiele e-mail en
unified messaging van Openwave en door derden ontwikkelde applicaties.
Openwave is de marktleider op het gebied van mobiel internet en haar
software is reeds toegepast in meer dan 70 procent van telefoons die
