DEUTSCHE POST EURO EXPRESS KIEST TIBCO

'EAI-Express National' pilotproject gaat TIBCO's technologie gebruiken

18 juli 2002 ­ TIBCO Software Inc. heeft aangekondigd dat Deutsche Post Euro Express, een divisie van Deutsche Post World Net, TIBCOS s Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) platform heeft geselecteerd om verschillende logistieke applicaties, die binnen het bedrijf worden gebruikt, te integreren. 'Anwendungsberatung Erfurt', een onderdeel van Deutsche Post IT Solutions, dat IT oplossingen ontwikkelt voor de totale groep, zal de implementatie doen.

TIBCO s EAI platform leverde het bewijs van haar kunnen in een Deutsche Post IT workshop: in slechts twee dagen ontwikkelden TIBCO consultants een bedrijfsproces dat adapters gebruikt voor vier back-end systemen (SAP, Disposystem, LDAP ­ Lightweight Directory Acces Protocol en Oracle).

TIBCO s EAI zal het 'EAI Express National' project ondersteunen om een backbone te bieden voor Express Deutschland, de binnenlandse pakket- en express leveringsservice van Deutsche Post World Net. Deze integratielaag zal connectiviteit tussen de verschillende back-end systemen binnen de Deutsche Post mogelijk maken.

Een ander doel van het project is het op applicatie gebaseerde system van Deutsche Post te transformeren in een service-geörienteerde en op componenten gebaseerde omgeving. Deutsche Post Euro Express heeft een 'Corprate Integration Unit' en 'Adapter Factory' opgezet in Erfurt, Duitsland om de doelstellingen van het project te bereiken en de aangekondigde adapters te ontwikkelen met TIBCO's software-ontwikkel kit.

"Bedrijfsintegratie is van strategisch belang voor ons omdat het belangrijk potentieel biedt voor het vergroten van de effectiviteit van onze operaties," aldus Dirk Olufs, head of departement IT strategy and planning bij Deutsche Post IT Solutions. "Dit pilotproject betekent daarom een grote mijlpaal voor ons," voegde hij toe.

Erik Hansen, President van TIBCO EMEA zei, "TIBCO Software is toonaangevend in de Europese postsector en werkt samen met de Italiaanse, Belgische en Oostenrijkse post. Het contract met de Deutsche Post versterkt onze positie; wij zijn blij met de toevoeging van deze Europese marktleider aan onze klantenlijst."
